Hostelworld.com “My Awesome Escape” Competition - Terms and Conditions
The promoter of the "My Awesome Escape" Competition (the "Draw") is Hostelworld.com Limited (hereafter known as the "Promoter") of Charlemont Exchange, Charlemont Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.
By entering the Draw, the "Entrant" agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions and agrees that the decision of the Promoter is binding and final.
No purchase is necessary for entry into the Draw.
The Prizes are provided by the Promoter and the following partner (hereafter known as the "Organiser"):

By entering the Draw, the Entrant also agrees to be bound by The NDL Group's terms and conditions, as per Clause 8 below.
The full details of the Prizes are as follows:
GRAND PRIZE:
There will be one (1) Grand Prize winner (the "Grand Prize Winner") of three (3) adventure trips of their choice, provided by the Organiser.
Each Entrant into the Draw must pre-select three (3) preferences for an adventure trip from a list of thirty (30) options offered on the Hostelworld.com website or by suggesting their own adventures in a text box provided in the online entry form.
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be randomly selected from all correct entries to win their three (3) chosen adventures to the maximum cumulative value of €20,000.
The Grand Prize is for up to two (2) people and includes flights (including taxes and surcharges), three (3) adventure activities, transfers and travel insurance.
The chosen adventure trips for each Grand Prize Winner is subject to availability, and is at the discretion of Promoter and Organiser, and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays and Bank Holidays (both in the Grand Prize Winner's own country and chosen destination(s)).
Any long haul flights must include a Saturday night stay in the Grand Prize Winner's chosen destination(s). The departure airport used will be dependent on the direct availability from the Grand Prize Winner's nearest available international airport, which may not necessarily be the closest.
The Grand Prize Winner may need a visa to travel to their chosen foreign destination(s) which they should arrange with those countries' local Embassies, at their own expense. It is the Grand Prize Winner's own responsibility to comply with any visa requirements of their destination country. Approval is at the discretion of the destination country's Embassy and the Promoter and Organiser cannot be held responsible for any visa applications being rejected.
Any activities, tours and attractions included in the package are subject to availability at the time of booking.
Travel insurance, where included, is subject to normal terms of acceptance. Pre-existing medical conditions may not be covered. Age restrictions may apply. For non-EU residents, should NDL Group be unable to purchase travel insurance on the winners behalf, the winner will be reimbursed fully for purchasing their own travel insurance.
The Grand Prize must be booked by the Grand Prize Winner via The NDL Group by December 31, 2014, for travel by August 31, 2015.
The Grand Prize includes up to twenty-one (21) nights' accommodation in hostels, based on two (2) people sharing a private room with en-suite facilities on a room only basis. This accommodation will be booked via the Promoter.
The Grand Prize Winner will also receive one (1) x €3,000 cash sum which will be wire transferred into their bank account by the Promoter. The Grand Prize Winner will be responsible for providing the relevant bank account details.
All holidays must be booked with NDL Travel (ABTA K3065). The maximum cumulative €20,000.00 value is redeemable against up to 3 bookings on selected holidays with NDL Travel using NDL's trusted suppliers when at least 1 adult travels and must include transport and accommodation. If the cost of a booking exceeds the value of €20,000.00 used for that booking, the excess balance must be paid by credit card or by debit card at the time of booking. Payments made by credit card incur a 2.5% charge. The Grand Prize Winner must redeem the prize in no more than 3 transactions. Any amount not redeemed in the 3 transactions will be forfeited by the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize is not transferable - it is redeemable only by the person whose name is stated above, for travel by that person. The Grand Prize may not be resold.
SECONDARY PRIZES:
There will be three (3) Secondary Prize winners (the "Secondary Prize Winners") of one (1) adventure trip of their choice, provided by the Organiser.

Three (3) Secondary Prize Winners will be randomly selected from all correct entries to win one (1) of their chosen adventures to the maximum cumulative value of €5,500.00
Each Secondary Prize is for up to two (2) people and includes flights (including taxes and surcharges), one (1) adventure activity and travel insurance.

Each Secondary Prize Winner will also receive one (1) x €1,000 cash sum which will be wire transferred into their bank account by the Promoter. Secondary Prize Winners will be responsible for providing the relevant bank account details.

The maximum, cumulative €5,500.00 value is redeemable against one booking on selected holidays with NDL Travel using NDL's trusted suppliers when at least 1 adult travels and must include transport and accommodation. If the cost of the booking exceeds the value of €5,500.00 used for that booking, the excess balance must be paid by credit card or by debit card at the time of booking. Payments made by credit card incur a 2.5% charge. Secondary Prize Winners must redeem their prize in one transaction. Any amount not redeemed in one transaction will be forfeited by the Secondary Prize Winner. Secondary Prizes are not transferable – they are redeemable only by the person whose name is stated above for travel by that person. Secondary Prizes may not be resold.
DAILY PRIZES:
There will be forty-nine (49) daily prize winners (“Daily Prize Winners”), each drawn randomly from all correct entries once per day of the Draw.
Each Daily Prize Winner will receive one (1) x €100 cash sum which will be wire transferred into their bank account by the Promoter. Each Daily Prize Winner will be responsible for providing the relevant bank account details.
All Prizes are non-transferable, cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and can only be claimed by the Grand Prize Winners, Secondary Prize Winners, or Daily Prize Winners who are notified by the Promoter in accordance with Clause 13 below.
The Promoter does not own or run any of the Organiser's services. In order to avail of the Grand Prize or Secondary Prizes referred to in Clauses 6.A(a) and 6.B(a) above, the Grand Prize Winner and Secondary Prize Winners will be required to agree to any relevant terms and conditions or contract required by the Organiser. The Grand Prize Winner and Secondary Prize Winners acknowledge that the Promoter will not be party to any such agreements with the Organiser and will not be liable to the Grand Prize Winner or Secondary Prize Winners in respect of the terms of those agreement(s) whether directly or indirectly.
Entrants must be aged 18 (eighteen) or over. Each Entrant is required to fully and correctly complete the entry form, including email address, and up to 3 adventure trip choices. In entering the Draw, the Entrant does so at his/her own risk and on his/her own initiative, and is responsible for complying with local laws, to the extent any local laws apply. Entry into the Draw may be unlawful under the laws of the applicable jurisdiction and if entry in the Draw is unlawful, the Entrant will breach these terms and conditions and will be immediately disqualified from the Draw.
The Draw is not open to employees or agents of the Promoter, Organiser or any affiliated companies or subsidiaries or any third parties involved in the Draw.
The Draw is open for participation from May 15, 2014 until June 30, 2014. The Draw for the Grand Prize will be held on July 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM GMT. The Draws for the three (3) Secondary Prizes will be held respectively on June 2, 9, and 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM GMT.
All Winners of the Draw shall be chosen at random by the Promoter from all correct entries.
All Winners shall be notified via their submitted email address.
By entering the Competition each Entrant agrees to allow the Promoter to use their name and nationality to be displayed as a winner on the Hostelworld.com website.
By entering the competition the Entrant agrees, in the event that they are a Winner, to participate in such promotional activity as is reasonably requested by the Promoter, such as providing the Promoter with content for the Hostelworld.com website, blog, e-newsletters, and social media channels for further marketing purposes following the competition.
By entering into the competition the Entrant agrees to subscription to Hostelworld.com e-newsletters.
All Winners shall be given five (5) calendar days from the date of notification to claim the Prize. In the event that a Winner fails to respond in writing via e-mail within that period, chooses not to accept the Prize, is ineligible for the Draw or fails to duly complete, execute and return any document required by the Promoter, he/she shall be immediately disqualified from the Draw and he/she shall forthwith relinquish any right or entitlement to the Prize. The Promoter shall then draw from all remaining eligible entries and an alternative "Entrant" shall be selected as winner of the relevant Prize (the "Alternative Winner").
The Alternative Winner shall be notified via his/her submitted email address. The Alternative Winner shall be given three (3) calendar days from the date of notification to claim the Prize. In the event that the Alternative Winner fails to respond in writing via e-mail within that period, chooses not to accept the Prize, is ineligible for the Draw or fails to duly complete, execute and return any document required by the Promoter, he/she shall be immediately disqualified from the Draw and he/she shall forthwith relinquish any right or entitlement to the Prize. The "Prize" shall then be returned to the inventory and the Draw shall be discontinued.
Only one entry per email address (last entry) will be accepted. The Promoter will not accept multiple entries using the same email address.
In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the individual that submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorised account holder of the e-mail account.
Each Entrant releases and holds the Promoter and its employees, agents, sub-contractors and consultants harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Draw or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any Prize, including without limitation, personal injury, property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
The receipt by an Entrant of any Prize is conditional upon that Entrant executing all relevant releases and other documentation and providing such assistance as the Promoter may reasonably require.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any breach of its obligations hereunder resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to fires, strikes (of its own or other employees), insurrection or riots, embargoes, delays in transportation, requirements or regulations of any civil or military authority, computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or technical failure and the Promoter shall be entitled to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Draw and these terms and conditions without liability.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or discontinue this Draw or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to Entrants.
These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland and the Entrant hereby agrees that for the benefit of the Promoter and without prejudice to the right of the Promoter to take proceedings before any other court of competent jurisdiction, that the courts of Ireland shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine any suit, action or proceedings that might arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions and for such purposes the Entrant irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of such courts. |
