CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest commences at 12:00:00 AM (ET) on April 20, 2014 and will end at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on June 14, 2014 (the "Contest Period"). All entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM (ET) on June 14, 2014 (the "Contest Closing Date"). A day (a “Day”) is defined as a 24 consecutive hour period starting at 12:00:00 AM (ET) and ending at 11:59:59 PM (ET). The Contest computer system (the “Contest computer”) is used to govern all computer and time-related aspects of the Contest and, among other things, is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the Contest an individual herein defined as an “entrant” must: (a) be a legal resident of Canada; (b) be located in Canada; (c) be of the age of majority in his/her province or territory of residence at the time of entry; and (d) have and use only one (1) valid email address to participate in the Contest. Employees, representatives, agents, officers, and directors (and immediate family members and members of the same household of such persons, including common law spouses and persons with whom such persons are domiciled) of Wrigley Canada, Inc., ("Sponsor"), its respective affiliates (including, without limitation, its respective parent, sister and subsidiary companies), the independent contest judging organization, advertising or promotional agencies and suppliers of materials or services related to the Contest are not eligible to enter the Contest. For these Official Rules, "immediate family" means mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter and spouse, including common law spouse, regardless of where they reside. The decisions of Sponsor and/or independent contest judging organization are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest and the awarding of the Prizes. Groups, clubs, organizations, businesses and commercial and non-commercial entities (other than individuals) cannot participate in the Contest. The Sponsor shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the Sponsor for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant should an entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
PARTICIPATING PRODUCTS: To enter, entrants will be required to enter the digits found below a UPC bar code (IIIIIIIIII) from any participating product listed below, while supplies last. Only the 8 or 12 digit code from the list of participating products below will be accepted. Product availability is subject to participating store listings. NOTE: The posting of participating UPC codes on any other website than this Website is forbidden. If it is determined that an entrant has posted a participating UPC code on any website other than the Website the entrant will be disqualified and the UPC code posted will be requested to be removed from the website immediately.

HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: To participate in this Contest, an entrant will need the 8 or 12 digits found below a participating UPC bar code (IIIIIIIII) from any of the participating products listed in Rule 3 above or he/she may request a UPC Code without purchase (See Rule 5 for details on how to request a no Purchase UPC Code). Each 8 or 12 digit UPC code provides the entrant with one (1) entry into the Contest.
To enter the Contest: Visit www.excelgum.ca (the “Website”);
First time visitors: An entrant must click “Sign Up” and complete the registration form with their first and last name; email address; create and confirm a password (alphanumeric only with 4 – 12 characters); complete mailing address; daytime telephone number; select your age range; correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question (found on the webpage) without any mechanical assistance of any kind; read and accept these Official Rules; and select "Sign Up".
Returning visitors: Select "Log in"; enter his/her email address and password and select "Log in".
Submitting an entry: To submit an entry, enter the 8 or 12 digits found below a UPC bar code (IIIIII) on participating products or that was received by entrant through the No Purchase Necessary method described in Rule 5 below and select “Submit”. Upon completing an entry you will receive a “Thank you” message. If an entrant does not receive a “Thank you” message, look for a message that provides further direction on why his/her entry was not accepted. If any UPC code does not match the list of participating products his/her entry will not be accepted.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: To request a UPC code without purchase, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Excel “Shut Out Bad Breath” No Purchase Request, P.O Box 146, Dept. 600, Oakville, ON L6K 0A3. Limit one (1) request per household per day. Each mail in request must be mailed in a separate envelope, bearing sufficient prepaid postage. Requests must be received by May 29, 2014 to allow for sufficient processing time.
LIMIT OF NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Limit of one (1) entry per person per Day. Entries must be submitted by the individual and not by any other person on behalf of an entrant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or household or using another person’s email address or name or household address will be disqualified and no Prize will be awarded to such person. A person may only use one (1) first and last name, telephone number, complete mailing address, and one (1) e-mail address to participate in the Contest. Any person who is found to have entered the Contest with more than one (1) first and last name, telephone number, complete mailing address, or e-mail address will be disqualified and all such entries received from such person during the Contest Period will be disqualified and no Prize will be awarded to such person. Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures etc) or attempted transmission of an entry or attempted submission of any communication, does not constitute proof of delivery or receipt by the Contest Computers. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete entries, which will be void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor upon receipt and none will be returned.
PRIZES: There will be a total of five thousand and three (5,003) prizes (each a “Prize”) available to be won with five thousand (5,000) daily prizes (each a “Daily Prize”) available to be won; and three (3) grand prizes (each a “Grand Prize”) available to be won.
Grand Prizes: A total of three (3) Grand Prizes are available to be won. Each Grand Prize consists of a trip for the winner and one (1) guest to Paris, France for seven (7) nights including: return economy airfare departing from the Canadian International airport nearest to the winner's home to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) France; round trip economy transfers between airport in France and hotel; seven (7) night's accommodation at a 4-star hotel based on double occupancy in a standard room with continental breakfasts; dinner for two (2) at a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower with a pre-set menu (subject to availability at the time of reservations); two (2) one (1) day tours (Versailles, Paris City Tour and Seine River Cruise [Palace of Versailles in the morning and Seine River Cruise and Paris city tour in the afternoon] and Paris to Bruges Day tour [town of Bruges in Belgium’s Flemish region] both subject to availability at the time of reservations) and $750.00 CDN spending money. Approximate retail value of each Grand Prize is $10,000.00 based on a Calgary, Alberta departure. Approximate retail value may vary depending on the departure date, departure city and airfare fluctuations. Winners shall not be entitled to receive, in cash, certificate or otherwise, the balance of any amount representing the difference of the approximate retail value and actual cost. If the winner’s travel guest is a minor in his/her province or territory the minor travel guest must travel with his/her parent or legal guardian. Travel must be completed by December 15, 2014. Air carrier and hotel accommodations will be determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. A Saturday night stay may be required. Reservations will be accepted based on space availability, and must be booked a minimum of forty-five (45) days prior to the departure date. Certain restrictions and blackout dates apply and no frequent flyer miles will be available for this trip. In the event of winner’s inability to utilize any portion of the Grand Prize, there will be no substitutions, transferability, cash refunds or extensions. Once the travel date of the trip has been confirmed, no changes will be permitted. The winner and his/her travel guest must each have proof of valid travel documents prior to ticketing. The winner and his/her travel guest must be Canadian residents to qualify for the Prize. The winner and his/her travel guest must travel on the same itinerary. The winner and his/her travel guest must have the right to enter France and be able provide proper legal identification to leave and re-enter Canada, such as, be in possession of a valid passports (valid for six (6) months past the return date). Should the flights be connecting flights with any stops or stopovers in the United States of America and/or other countries, the winner and his/her travel guest must be eligible for entry to the United States of America, and or other countries that the flight will arrive in before arriving in France. Either the winner or the travel guest must hold a valid credit card to cover any incidentals or any other requirement that may be required at the hotel or by the air carrier. Ground transfers to and from the winner and/or travel guests’ residence and designated airport and all other expenses not specified herein including but not limited to; transfers, luggage fees, meals, telephone or fax, gratuities, optional tours, taxes and fees, insurance (medial and cancellation), medical travel documents, personal expenses, and any other costs not specifically stated herein as being included, are the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her travel guest. The Sponsor does not make any representations or warranty regarding the Grand Prize. The Sponsor is not liable if the winner and/or his/her guest are refused access to a plane, entry into France, or re-entry into Canada. If travel is delayed, impeded, cancelled or refused by the Canadian or any authorities or for any reason, Grand Prize may be forfeited (in whole or in part) and winner and/or his/her guest will be responsible for any additional expenses incurred.
Daily Prizes: A total of five thousand (5,000) Excel critters ear buds prizes are available to be won with eighty-nine (89) Daily Prizes awarded each Day during the Contest Period except for the last day (June 14, 2014) there will be one hundred and five (105) Prizes awarded. As of the start of the Contest Period and amongst the total number of prizes available to be won there will be one thousand two hundred and fifty (1,250) of each: coffee; donut; garlic and onion critters ear buds available to be won with approximately twenty-two (22) of each critter Prize and one (1) random critter Prize awarded each Day during the Contest Period. Each Daily Prize has an approximate retail value of $14.99 CDN. |
